September 18, 2017: Business Trip

Wellllllll... greetings my fellow brothers and sisters,

This was a great week! It was full of travelling though. Pretty rough. I am wayyyy too tall to fit in the busses.
One of the bus rides, I was sitting in the very back seat and one lady threw up 5 times in the bathroom.  Which, was right next to my seat.  Heard it all!

Lasagna that a member made...BEST LASAGNA IN MY LIFE.... sorry Mom!
Let´s see.... so the first half of the week we went to the mission council. Which, was great. Loved it. Super tiring though. Then we worked as hard as possible for two days. And we had a zone meeting. SO we shared a training that we came up with and we made goals with the zone to get better. It went really well. We talked about the Title of Liberty and we did our own... on a piece of paper.

In Valença we made stroganoff for lunch. We took a pic and Elder R Santos didnt want to put a shirt on so he just covered up the symbols on the garments.. hahahaha
Then, Thursday night, I went to Valença to do the baptismal interviews for the DL. IT was great. I miss that town and all the people there. It was a great time though. I got to see Elder Vander Werff again. Love that guy. He arrived with me on the mission. We were in the same district in the CTM. So he is like my brother. AND he lives in Orem, Utah. SO we will definitely hang after the mission. UMM also we visited Ednaldo and Mayana (my recent converts from Valença). It was great. I love those guys. Unfortunately that night.... I missed my bus so I had to leave Saturday morning at 11. Which complicated all of our appointments on Saturday. We even missed a service project marked that day. So we have to make it up to the members. BUT its all good.

Elder De Melo and I. We served together in Valença and that was probably the last time I will see him. He is finishing his mission.
My fingers are tired...
Our Zone is doing well. This week I travelled to Valença to perform a baptismal interview for Elder Vander Werff. Things seem to be going well in Valença.
We held a Zone meeting on Wednesday and focused on Our Purpose as missionaries and the importance of contacts. We made goals with the zone to become more obedient to the rules of the mission and we showed the promised blessings if they do so. We need to follow-up better on this idea though. If we fail to follow-up, the Elders will quickly forget what we taught them. The Zone is excited though.
Our area is great. We are starting to work with the members and have marked many splits to perform this week. However, this week was difficult to reach our goals and the desired results because of the travelling. This upcoming week will be much better though.
I am getting along great with Elder Gomes. We work together as a team and constantly feel the Spirit testifying through us. It is a great time to be able to perfect our work and dilligence as missionaries.

We had the opportunity to be present during a miracle. In Valença, I went with the Elders to visit the family that Elder R. Santos and I had the opportunity to baptize. While we were there. They asked us to give a health blessing to their niece that was suffering from a strong fever and was unable to talk without pain. We gave her a blessing. During the blessing she was still crying and in pain. However, Elder R. Santos blessed her that her pains would immediately go away. When he closed with the name of Jesus Christ, she immediately stopped crying. Afterwards, she was smiling, laughing, and playing with the other children. It was a great testimony building experience. I know that the gift of healing is real. I could really see and imagine what Jesus Christ taught when he said, "Suffer the little children to come unto Me" It was a very peaceful moment.
Super cool experience. haha Love Copy and Paste. ANYWAYS. I love you alll!  Hope you have a great week!!

A member had a PS2! Hunt and Dad do you remember playing this all the time in the good old days!

September 11, 2017: MOM, I'M FAMOUS!

HEY EVERYONE!

This is going to be a short email. I talked about my week in my voice memo. BUT IT WAS GREAT. I love my new comp Elder Gomes. He is a great Elder and we are working very hard to help our area and zone thrive.

Elder Gomes and I
SO this week the highlight was marching in the parade. It made the week quite crazy. But, either way, it was fun. I was holded a banner the whole time. IT was SUPER tiring. My arms were aching.... hahaha BUT it's all good. So that was fun. And apparently I showed up on the TV!! So I am famous! lol

Marching in the Parade!
So this upcoming week will be really good but really crazy. We are going to Salvador for the Mission Council tonight. We get back Wednesday morning. Then, Thursday night I have to go to Valença to do the baptismal interview for the DL. BUT, I am super excited to see Ednaldo, Mayana, and their family. ALso, Elder Vander Werff is the DL there so it will be great to see him. SO that will be the week! Preetty nuts. But I will be sure to take lots of pics and let you guys know how it all goes!!!

We have been studying in the Book of Mormon and our focus to help our zone is when Moroni creates the standard of Liberty. I think this part is so cool and is an important thing for us. We can apply it to our lives. It is soooo important to have and always remember our purpose in life. Our purpose is what motivates us. AND for us, we should all remember that our purpose is CHRIST. He gives us purpose and life! So let us put more effort to ALWAYS remember him, to apply his attributes into our lives, and to look forward with faith. This is the key to help solve any life problem. BUT, honestly we need to prepare ourselves. Salvation is individual. Christ is returning. He is at the doorstep.

I love you all and have an amazing week!

Elder Davis

September 4, 2017: Transfers (WHAAAA HOOOOO)

Bom dia meus queridos!!

How is everyone doing?? Whelp. I love you all. haha

SO as you probably divined through the subject line, the transfers came through!!! YEAHHH So my companion is leaving and going to Livramento. He is staying another 4 weeks on the mission. It is complicated to explain. But yeah so he is going there to finish his mission. My new companion is Elder Gomes! He arrived with me in the field. He is brazillian so He arrivied in the CTM 4 weeks after us Americans. But we went to Salvador at the same time. He is a great guy! I love that Elder! haha He is a great worker and we are good friends. I am very very excited for this transfer. It will be baller!

Brazilian Ants!

SO this week was great! Elder Jenkins left Tuesday morning. Bummer. That was sad. I love that guy. He is a great elder and a great friend. So he left and the last week was pretty normal. We had some great lessons and found some new investigators. One of them wants to be baptized already and has been to church 2 times! Before we even taught her! hahaha So we are going to baptize her very soon. We will meet with her tomorrow! That will be great.

Elder Jenkins and me.
Also, I hit a year on the mission this week! That was fun! I just worked and had some great lessons and had Açai! Which, is super super good. It is like ice cream kind of... It is a fruit that is from Brasil. Anyways, I didn´t burn a shirt...... yet. But, Elder Gomes hits a year in a couple weeks so we will burn one then! It should still count. haha
My companion said goodbye to the members and they had a family night thingy for him. It was great! There was a lot of good food. haha

Funny story for the week. We were at the testimony meeting yesterday. One old man went to the stand with a plastic bag full of a Book of Mormon and Bible. He starting talking and said "I can't go to a church like this anymore. When I can't be here and find a wife at the same time I won't go. I was told I cant flirt anymore with the young women. But, I have the right to look for a wife. I'm single and lonely. Yes. I flirted with the young women. Yes, I asked every single one to marry me. And for that I ask forgiveness. But they were all at least 20, so it was legal to do what I did...." He went on talking for like 5 minutes... hahaha It was really weird to hear that during the meeting. And very funny at the moment. But unfortunately the man doesn't want to go to church anymore because of the way the bishop talked with him and treated him for flirting with the girls. So we will visit him and help him come back to church. But, I guess that is a perfect example that the people aren't true but the church is. We are working to help the bishop too. He has had some problems with other people to. haha

ANYWAYS, everything is going well! haha I am doing good and the church is growing! I was studying this week at the end of Alma. I read about Moroni and also the strippling warriors. That is probably on of my favorite parts in the book of mormon. I think it would be really cool to have an interactive website with a map of the Nephite civilization showing what happened over the course of the Book of Mormon, while citing scriptures to follow along with it. In addition, there is a lot of great lessons to learn from these stories. I love the part where the strippling warriors stated "We do not doubt our mothers knew it" This is a perfect example of how our testimonies are great strengths to other people. I know that my parents testimonies of the gospel have helped, and continue to help me in all the trials that I pass through. We shouldn't ever be afriad to bear our testimonies and love to others. For, it is our duty to preach the gospel to all! That is through our testimonies and love for others! I love you all and have an amazing week!!

Elder Davis

August 28, 2017: Workin like a Dog!

HEYY LO!!!

How is it going everyone!!! Sorry about that short email last week... I will type more in this email.  Sometimes it just gets tiring to type so much on the computer. I don't have the strongest fingers so they tire out quickly.;) BUT yeah. This was a good week my friends.

SO like I kindly stated in my email from last week, the mission president came down and interviewed us. So that was good. It was quick, but good.
Elder Jenkins and I
Also, Elder Jenkins (One of the assistants) has been doing splits with us this whole week. Which was really great. He has helped out a ton. We have found many new great investigators and have had a great time. We also figured out that he knows Miles Anderson. Pretty cool. I guess they went to school together.

SO yeah this week we did a tonnnnnn of walking and finding and teaching and it was soooo great. The mission is so great when you work your butt off! I absolutely love it! It had been a little tougher to work hard with my comp because he is finishing off the mission. BUT things are improving!

The city of Itabuna!
What weights look like for poor people...like us!

We have found a lot of cool people. AND it looks like in the month of September we will have quite a few baptisms. We have quite a few baptismal dates. The firmest baptism that we got so far is a girl named Emilly. So she was excommunicated 3 years ago, but on splits my companion ate lunch at her moms house. The Elder that he was on splits with shared a message and his testimony touched Emilly and gave her the desire to finally be re-baptized! So we have been working with her to get her all the way ready. Now the bishop needs to approve it and clear the date we have set. So we are just waiting on him. But within 2 or 3 weeks she will be baptized. That will be exciting. She has completely changed her lifestyle.

After that we just taught a lot of new people! So we found one guy named Venicius that is really really interested but also kinda nervous about everything. He is really smart and has toonnnns of doctrinal Bible questions for us. haha. We are meeting with him tonight at 6 so hopefully that goes great. But in the closing prayer of the lesson, he prayed to be baptized and for the church to grow!!! Super cool.

Anyways this week was great. Elder Jenkins and I got a little sick though. He got really sick on Saturday actually. He threw up 5 times in the night... Pretty rough. But we are getting better. Luckily I haven't ever thrown up on the mission...

Anyways that has been the week so far!! I have been studying about the sons of Alma the younger. I love all of these stories. BUT I love the counsel that he gives to them. I really loved the counsel given to Shiblon. He didn't tell him much but in the verses he tells him some powerful stuff!! So give that a readin! Love you all!!

August 21, 2017: HEELLO!

SHORT EMAIL.. :/

HEYYYYYY,
So we dont have much time to email today...

We have some interviews with the President and things to do. But I am doing good! SO basically this was a good week. haha WE have done some good work. My comp has had some rough things going on with his family. His dad has been to court because a lady has false claims against him. But the court is going badly. So he is getting really super stressed. So that is a brief explanation of it all.  So we are going to solve all that today. So because of that we don't have much time. Sorry guys. But this was a good week! haha

Really quick, in my studies, I have read a lot about the anti nephi lehites in Alma 24. I love that story. I thought it was an amazing act of faith by them and very inspiring that they got rid of everything that had to do with their sins and were true to their covenants. So I love you all! Sorry that this is so short!!!!

Love you all!

August 14, 2017: Zone Conference

HEY everyone!

I hope everyone is doing well! haha

This was a quick week!!! AND unfortunately, I don't have too much to talk about to you guys.
"Road of the Mormons"
BUT LETS GET STARTED

Monday we played volleyball and I DESTROYED... hahha The net was pretty low or I was pretty tall, But it was super easy to spike down on everybody. So my team kept winning. Pretty great. haha I like volleyball but I wish I would've learned how to actually play correctly when I was younger.

Lasagna at a members
Family Night
Tuesday was a normal day..We taught some people, had some good lessons, and prepared for the Zone Conference. We had 8 elders sleep over at our house for the conference. PRETTY NUTS. haha on Wednesday we had the Zone Conference. IT was good. A little long... but good! haha We had to give training as the Zone Leaders. My comp just wrote everything down and President and I taught how to give baptismal dates in the way he wants. It was good! I enjoy giving training.

Cool light thing
The other highlight of the week was the service project we did! ON Friday we helped a family clear out a bunch of dirt and stuff and help build the house a little more. BUT, while the other elders were doing that, the lady had me sculpt a sculpture of Hulk for her son that is coming home from a mission. I gladly did that instead of  hard labor. haha I was doing it and the lady passed by and saw the sculpt and started crying because she was so thankful. Super cool. She couldn't stop thanking me for helping her. I guess she was super stressed about all the stuff she had to do before he got home. I am almost done with the sculpt. When I finish I will send a picture to you guys.

Dog drinking Coke haha
I also had a cool spiritual experience. I reread the first vision and it really hit me. The importance of this message and this work. I love this work and I know that Joseph Smith really was a prophet of God.  I love you all!

August 7, 2017: We are the EGGMEN!

Helloooooo!

Well this week was another good one! I am loving this new area. It is great. The people here are super cool. I love these members. It is funny how similar they are to people I knew in Utah. There is this member that is just like Kris and Jeff Dunn. They are soooo cool.  The mom figured out that I do art and gave me a huge checklist.  That will be fun. haha

Elders from our Zone!
So this week the big highlight is the mission counsel.... I feel like it should be council.. but in Portugues it isn't... and it is the mission president´s counsel for the zone leaders. Stupid English. haha

ANYways, Monday we played volleyball. That was really fun! I almost sprained my ankle though. I landed on it weird and it is still a little tender. We also had a zone activity because we had good results for the month. SO we went to a Rodizio de Pizza. It is like Tucano´s but with pizza. It was pretty good! haha

Tuesday night we packed up and left for the meeting/counsel/council thingy. haha It was a 7 hour bus ride and I didn´t fit in the bus - I never fit in the buses- So I didn´t sleep too well. But, It's all good! We got there super early in the morning and stayed there until super late at night. It was a good meeting though. Learned a lot about what we can do better as ZL's. It was also fun because I got to see Elder Prado, Castlemain, and Jenkins again! I love those guys! haha Then we left back to our areas and got to work!

Itabuna
ON Saturday we went on splits with the elders from the area California. It was great. I went with Elder Thevenin from the Dominican Republic. Really cool guy. He is a great friend. We had a good time and taught a really cool family. The spirit was super strong! It was a real testimony builder!! haha Well, I love you guys so much!

ps. I was studying in Alma and read chapters 4 and 5 and loved it! They are really powerful and a crazy situation that happened to them! I encourage you all to read it! Love you!

July 31, 2017: Greetings from Itabuna!

Hello everyone!

I hope everyone is having a great week. I definitely had a great week. It was a week of transfers and I was getting to know my new area and companion here in Itabuna. It is going well though.

Eating my last big sandwich in Ilheus:)

On Monday I had to say goodbye to Ednaldo and his family. Super sad. haha I have gotten to know these people very well. I have been able to see and observe how the Gospel of Jesus Christ has transformed their lives. Once again, they thanked us and bore testimonies of how better their lives and relationships with one another are because of the Gospel. It has really strengthened my testimony of the Gospel. I will never forget them. I gave two puppets that mom made to the two kids and a shirt and tie to Ednaldo. I will also do a Christ drawing for them. Ednaldo let me choose one of the paintings that he had done to take home with me. He wanted me to take a giant boat painting, but I chose a smaller painting of boats with a yellow background. It was really cool though.

Ednaldo's Paintings!
Ednaldo gave me the yellow painting:)
I arrived in my new area Wednesday night, ate a little bit and went to rest. The next fews days I have spent learning my new area and meeting many new people. The members here are awesome. They give a lot of food! So maybe I will gain weight! ;) haha My companion is a great guy too. He is very smart and knows a lot about the gospel. He is the oldest Zone Leader on the mission and has shown me how to be a really good Zone Leader.

That was basically it for the week though. We haven´t had too many crazy stuff happening. I am just getting to know everyone and the area. But I really enjoy it here. It is a great area.

Self Portrait in 40 minutes...
I love the gospel and the work that I am doing. The spirit is so strong. I love feeling the sprit and being led by it as I teach. My testimony has been solidified. I know that Jesus Christ lives. That he suffered for us. I believe that through the mission and hard situations, we come to know the Lord on a much stronger scale. I find myself wondering "Why" many times. Why did this happen? Why did they turn us down? Why did I get sick?... Etc. But I have come to the understanding that these things happen for our personal growth. A Sword cannot be reinforced with out being beaten, a pencil cannot be sharpened without being cut, so in turn, a human cannot grow spiritually, without being tried. I love this work. The Gospel is true!

July 24, 2017: EDMAYFIA BAPTISMO!

Greetings, greetings unto all.

This week was a great week to end the transfer! It was super crazy though. Let's See...

WE HAD THE BAPTISM! I was sooooooo happy to be able to be there for their baptism. I was able to baptize Edaldo and Mayana and my comp baptized Sofia (Their Daughter) The whole week we were basically preparing for this day.
Ednaldo, Mayana, and their Family!

It was quite the experience to baptize on the beach. Some of the waves almost knocked us over! I was a little nervous going too deep in the water because I didn't want to get stung by another jellyfish!

SO the first part of the week we visited Ednaldo and his family. We talked about their doubts and they weren´t even worried about anything at that point. They said that it doesn´t matter because they knew that this is true.

We had quite the experience on Sunday as well. We had a little bit of apostasy going on... hahahaha But everyone is learning how the church works so we just gotta be patient and laugh.

Also this week we celebrated a member´s birthday, a boy named Charles. We had a surprise birthday party for him. I bought him a birthday cake but we first gave him just a package of like oreo cookies and he got all teary eyed because that was the only present he had got. Than we gave him the cake and he loved it.

Charles and his Birthday Cake!
The surprise Birthday party with the youth!
I have been transferred. I am leaving the good old town of Valença and am going to stay in the same zone. I will serve in Itabuna as one of the Zone leaders. My companion´s name is Elder D. Santos. He is a cool guy. I am very excited and I am sure it will be a great experience.

Picture of my district!  The guy in the flowered shirt is my companion...Elder R Santos
The Beautiful City of Valenca!

One cool spiritual experience this week. We found a new family to teach. They loved our message and were super happy. They told us that our messages and what we believe in is so clear and just makes sense. AND IT IS TRUE. The gospel is plain and simple and it changes lives. Dont ever forget it! Doubt your doubts before you doubt your faith!

July 17, 2017: Take some jelly, take some fish, put it in a sandwich deeelish.

HELLO Everyone!

This was quite the week! It was pretty crazy and went by super fast. So on Monday, I visited one of my old areas, Ilheus.  It was super awesome. I love those people there. So that was cool. Then Monday night we went to Itabuna for a Zone Conference. We bought some pizza that night and I met up with Elder Castlemain again. We all slept in the same house and just stayed up talking forever. haha It was a good time.

On Tuesday we had the zone conference. It was really good. We received a lot of good training. It was pretty long though. It went from 8-3! haha We lost our bus and the only other bus to Valença was at 11:00 pm. SO we had to wait a while and we weren´t able to work that day which was a bummer.

Then Wednesday and Thursday were pretty normal. We had some good lessons. We talked to Ednaldo and Mayana more about Baptism and what it is and they committed to be baptized this Saturday. We have planned it to be at 5:00 pm. So that will be awesome!

ON Friday we had to go up to Guaibim (the beach place) to clean everything up and get things ready for the baptism of two little girls. (They are from the other area) So we were up there all day. When we came back we took a shower and visited Ednaldo and Mayana. We taught them about Prophets and Thomas S Monson. We invited them to check out the church site and watch the videos that they have on it.

THEN on Saturday, we went up to Guaibim again. haha Because it was the baptism. It was pretty cool. It was very different having the baptism in the ocean. It was pretty crazy and wasn´t as spiritual. But it was still fun. Then we ate lunch their and played around a little on the beach. Unfortunately, after lunch when we went out there, it was really hot and I didn´t want to stay out there. But I put my feet in the water to cool them...AND RIGHT WHEN I TOUCHED THE WATER, my foot started to sting really bad. I thought that I had been cut by something and the salt water was just stinging me. SO I jumped out of the water and saw a Jellyfish wrapped around my foot!!! I got my foot out and it was hurting sooooo bad. SO I walked back to the member´s house. I told one of the guys there about the jellyfish and he told me to hurry into the bathroom to pee on my foot and scrub it with my hand!

My foot after being stung by a Jellyfish:)
I DIDN'T HAVE ANY OTHER OPTIONS GUYS.... So yeah. I peed on my foot. It was a blast. It still hurt though. SO I just layed down and slept for a little bit. When I woke up it was much better. I sent I picture of it when I woke up. But, before peeing on it, it was a lot more swollen. hahaha It was quite the experience.

Did a quick drawing for Pday!
Sunday was also good. Ednaldo and Mayana came again. After the meeting, I went to chat with them. They told me they had to tell me something... So it turns out that Mayana went to look on the church site and a bunch of anti mormon stuff popped up. So they read quite a bit of stuff and have a lot of questions. But it is good that they came to us first. So we will go there tomorrow to talk to them about it all. She said that she won´t give up though. She just is a little confused. So pray for them that everything may go according to the Lord´s plan. I know the Lord is guiding this work and I think it is so incredible that He uses such imperfect servants to perform this Work. I am so thankful that He has Perfect Patience for each one of us and is always there to help us out. I love you all! Don´t forget to Remember him in your day-to-day lives!

Elder Davis

July 10, 2017: Greetings from Ilheus

HEY EVERYBODY,

Unfortunately I don't have much time today. We got permission from President Bangerter and got to visit Ilheus again. SO that is awesome. I´m able to see a lot of good old friends that I made here. Then tomorrow we have a zone conference and that should be great.

We had a big activity/party at the church. It was fun! We did the decorations. It was basically all the ideas of my companion. He is a party planner.... hehe So yeah we spent basically the whole week doing that stuff. But luckily it is over. Thank heavens.  The  party was fun but I like teaching people much more.

Let´s see,  Ednaldo and Mayana went to church again. This time we didn´t go to their house to search for them. So it was stressful. I didn´t know if they were gonna show up. They showed up like 25 minutes late, but they made it!! So awesome. I love their family so much. They asked for more time so they aren´t getting baptized this Saturday so we are gonna move the date for the next week! haha

But I have had a great week here! I have learned a lot of really important life lessons. So I am growing as a person and everything. SO that is fun. I love the mission, I love the work. It is so great here. I love you all! Have an amazing week!!

Elder Davis

July 3, 2017: Week of Crazies!

Greetings unto all,

My beloved brothers and sister, and friends and family.... and parents... collegues... fellow ward members,

This was a great week here in Valença. I am loving it here. We have done a lot of good work. We have gone on splits with the young men in the group to be able to visit more people and get to know their friends. SO the work is going really well!

So this week I have learned of my new talent that I have.... For some reason all the crazy people like me in this city. Crazy in terms of literally mad.... like they can´t function as a normal citizen. hahaha They don´t really have places for those people. So they generally wander around on the road. haha So they all stopped me and kissed my hand and conversed with me about different things. Really strange. But it was funny. It is some good entertainment throughout the week.

Got the Elders to make French Toast. They thought it was too much sugar!

So we had some good progress with Ednaldo and Mayana. They are loving our visits and they visited the church on sunday!!! Everything went well and they were really impressed with how different our church is than all other churches. They said they really felt different. The funny thing is that a mess up happened while the other elders were preparing the sacrament and they FORGOT to put the water in the little cups in the tray. hahahah So when they went to bless the sacrament they had to grab a cup of water to fill it up quickly. It was a little embarrassing. haha But it´s all good. Everything worked out.

We have talked more about baptism with Ednaldo and Mayana and they committed to be baptized on the 15th of July. They are a little worried though. Ednaldo humbly told us that he loves our visit but Mayana and him were talking about tithing. He said that he has a lot of debts and things to pay off and at the moment they are barely making it. So he said they wouldn´t be able to pay tithing. I wasn´t sure what to say. But I bore my testimony that God will pour down blessings upon us as we faithfully keep the commandments and I invited them to pray for guidance and help. SO pray for them! Hopefully all will work out and they will be baptized on the 15th.

Anyways that pretty much sums up the week for me! I love you all!! Have an amazing peaceful week.

Love,
Elder Davis

June 26, 2017: Pretty Slow

HELLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOO,

If you couldn´t tell by the full-caps subject line, this week was pretty slow. haha

I had a couple health issues going on. So I couldn´t work as much. But I am getting a lot better so don´t worry! Also, The last three days of the week was a huge Brasillian holiday here. It is called São João. It is commemorating Jogn the baptist. But, nobody really knows that. It is just a huge party weekend. The whole city shut down. Everyone just listens to suuuper loud music in the road and drinks beer. haha Pretty great. So during the night we didn´t have much success in the work. Everyone had huge parties or had travelled to a different city for the holiday.

We had a good time though. We ate lasagna one day! Also, I learned how to make really good rice. So I will be able to make that when I get home. Now I just need to figure out the beans.... hahah

But, I am loving it out here in the mission. Sorry that this week was pretty lame. I have just been a little under the weather, and would rather not get into the details. haha I love you all! Have a great week!

Love,
Elder Davis

June 20, 2017: Uncle Josh

Hi everyone! Well this is going to be super super super short. hehe

So I went to go get my visa renewed. And..... I am still legal here. haha So that´s good. I had to travel to Salvador this weekend and get all that figured out. It was really fun though. I had a great time and got to see Elder Vander Werff and Elder Castlemain again! It´s the first time that we have been all together since the first day in the mission field! AND... I forgot to take a picture. haha DANG IT. It´s all good though. And now I gotta catch up to visit all the people that I couldn´t visit.

On Sunday a returned missionary came to Valença because he served there. He brought his violin and I accompanied him on the piano. haha He played on all the hymns and he played very well. It was awesome. The spirit was super strong.

I got a new companion last week. He is a great guy. We are getting along just fine and doing good work here in Valença. It is much better and easier to work.  Ednaldo´s surgery didn´t go as planned. So please pray for him. Hopefully he gets better soon to get out of all that pain. He hasn´t been able to come to church yet.

So that is the week boys and girls. I will write more next week.

Love,
Elder Davis
